Learn how Music can have a Big Roll in Living Long and Healthy.

Filed under: Top 20, bands, music, playlist — Admin @ 12:06 pm

By FutureSounds

A healthy lifestyle is most commonly defined by how physically healthy you are, correct? For example, if you have a cold or are sick, you are considered not healthy. If you have a life altering disease such as cancer or aids, you are not healthy. Now does this mean that it is all

physical? Absolutely not! Your well being is also made up by your mental state. Think about this, the kind of music you listen to generally affects your mood. Here is a perfect example: I listened to Hard Rock as a teen

(most teenagers do) and was very crazy, a trouble maker, energetic, and fun! Now that I have matured in age, I listen to softer music and I am more relaxed, laid back, careless, and less energetic.

Now focus on music and creating your mood. Again, going back to the heavy rock, how does that make you feel when you hear it? I can tell you from experience that heavy music gets my blood rushing, my foot pounding, my head pulsing. It kicks me into overdrive! Now, how do you feel when you listen to light music? Let me take you to the opposite extreme and use classical music as an example. While listening to a song composed by eethoven, how do you feel? I am generally feeling very classy, smart, makes me feel like learning, reading a novel, become a better person. It is a totally different mood it puts me in. How does it make you feel?

So how does this make you live healthier? The correct kind of music can help your mood and attitude get better, creating a positive and happy outlook on life. It is truth that a happier person lives an extended life and is in better health than someone who is always concerned about something, upset, and unhappy. The human body was not made to handle stress all the time. That is where disease comes from. Look at the word, dis ease. That means there is not ease in the human body, mental stress can be the cause. Music could be the fix.

Music can be enjoyed by all. How great do you feel when you hear your favorite song come on the iPod or radio? How does it make you feel when you hear a song you do not like? Not that good right?

Let us talk about movies. What about scary flix, what kind of soundtrack do they have? Some play really scary high pitched, quick paced scary music, others have gotten smart and play NOTHING musically. This is smart because mentally, without music your mind wonders and it allows them to put more suspense behind the movie. Do you remember the Blair Witch Project? It was a low budget flick, and done with no soundtrack. Somehow it still was one of the most popular and watched horror flix of the time.

What about your feel good flix? Next time you get a chance, watch Disneys Enchanted? It is a musical all in its own that has light, fluffy, dance in the street, kiss your neighbor, sweet music. It makes me feel very caring

and uncharacteristically in the mood to hug a chipmunk. The producers knew what they were doing with this. As with most Disney movies the soundtrack is crucial. It puts the movie watches in a positive mind frame and gives them something to look forward to.

What about action flix, what type of soundtrack do they have? I would say techno, heavy, fast paced rock soundtrack? Think about one of the best action movies ever The Matrix. The theme song is a bass guitar with a

fast paced riff. It puts you in the mind frame to do some damage! Not necessarily a positive attitude, but still, makes me happy for the time being.

So, how do you tie this all in to being healthy? Find out what makes you happy and concentrate your efforts on that sort of music. Do not try to trick yourself; you know what it is that makes you feel the best. Enjoy the

knowledge that you now have on living just a little bit healthier with music and share this with your friends.

If you enjoyed this article, you should think about indulging in music a bit

more.

Hiring a Piano Teacher: Things to Consider First

Filed under: Top 20, bands, music, playlist — Admin @ 12:07 pm

By Amy Nutt

Every parent wants the best for their children and part of this is often music. However, it’s not a good idea to simply hire the first piano teacher you come across, there are some things you really should consider first. It’s important to realize that not all musicians are able to teach their art and not all music teachers are good at it . . . don’t waste your money on mediocre ones. Instead, do your research and make sure that the person you choose to teach your children piano is someone truly qualified to do so.

There are a few other things to consider, as well, so we’ve compiled this list for you.

Family

Readiness. Is your child ready to learn? Even the best piano teacher will have troubles teaching a child who is adamantly opposed to learning piano. Younger children will probably be more interested in learning, while older ones might rebel at anything that seems like work. Gauge the interest in piano carefully before you begin.

Practice. Do you have what it takes to ensure your child practices daily? It’s not going to help much if you find yourself ignoring practice and letting your kids watch TV instead of doing their homework. Unfortunately, kids tend to avoid this even if they enjoy the piano lessons, so you need to be ready to urge them to play.

Piano. If you want your little one to start tickling the ivories, you’ll be needing a piano in the house for practice times. It’s no secret that a real piano is expensive, so you might want to leave the real deal out of it for now. A more affordable alternative, though definitely not the same is a keyboard, which is often suffice until a child grows into a real piano.

Teacher

Distance. A piano teacher who lives within a decent distance from your home is going to be your best bet. These days, families are running from one activity to the next and there isn’t much time for long commutes. Another option is to find out if the piano teacher can come to your home.

Background check. Unfortunately, some families have learned the hard way that the music tutor they chose for their children should not have been allowed near kids. Do a background check on anyone you are considering letting near your children and keep them safe.

Experience. While experience and certificates are certainly not the only signs of a good teacher, they can definitely help. Someone who has been teaching for 30 years will have a few more tricks up their sleeve than someone who has just started a few weeks ago.

Likeability. Children have very keen people skills and tend to pick up on things that we don’t even notice. If your little pupil is not interested in continuing with this particular piano teacher, you might want to look elsewhere. It’s easiest for a kid (or anyone for that matter!) to learn from someone they trust.

Piano lessons can help shape a child’s life, so you’ll want to make sure you do a good job of choosing the right teacher. Kids are naturally interested in music and you’ll fare much better if you have the right teacher and think things through completely before enrolling them in classes.

Knowing just what to expect is a good idea, so talk to the teacher about how much practice time will be expected and how many lessons each week, etc. This will all help you prepare for what is going to be a definite part of your lives from now on.

There are many reasons, issues and circumstances that can be associated with missed music lessons and classes. Consequently, various music teachers resources and tips, which are designed and intended to motivate students attend their music lessons and classes regularly, have been made readily available online. Since you have gotten into this page, your willingness and urge to adopt music teaching resources and tips seem to be intense and obvious. Well, you are on the right track; this article tends to give you some helpful tips and resources in teaching music more effectively and efficiently.

Motivate Young Minds

Motivation is the key issue to gauge how exactly students learn. A music teacher may be puzzled or even worried when it seems to him that his students lack self-motivation. With that thinking, he must know the motivational needs of his students.

Motivation may come from the teacher himself or from the learning environment. What matters here is the students would be encouraged to attend classes with much determination and perseverance.

In a classroom setting, learners can be motivated by their own music preference, interest, background, experience, skills and abilities. Also, music teaching efforts and strategies should always adhere to the personal motivational needs and qualities of the students. With these methods, you could see their willingness and eagerness to learn and eventually love music more.

Inspire Your Students

Some would agree that motivation in a classroom setting is quite synonymous to inspiration. Meaning, ones motivating factors are the same as his sources of inspiration. Basically, he tries his best to achieve his objectives not just because he is determined to do so but because he is indeed motivated and inspired to succeed.

Inspiring students is never easy. You need to come up with a variety of new strategies that can make them really interested and hooked with your daily activities and sessions. With you and your music teaching resources or techniques, they would surely look forward to seeing you next meeting.

It is true that teaching as a whole is a noble profession. In fact, it is more than just a vocation or a career: it is more on commitment and fulfillment. A teacher feels his worth and success when he sees his students succeed in time. Indeed, teaching young minds is a rewarding experience.

Pioneers Of DJ Equipment And Techniques

Filed under: Top 20, bands, music, playlist — Admin @ 5:37 am

By Dominic Donaldson

It the world of music it’s not difficult to name some of the most influential recording artists of the last century. Miles Davis and Charlie Parker defined a style of Jazz that has continued to flourish and influences many artists in genres other than Jazz today. Elvis Presley is widely regarded as the person who gave the world Rock n Roll and Bob Dylan is cited by every songwriter who has emerged over the last fifty years. But they all had help getting there.

Where would The Beatles have been without Brian Epstein? Where would The Rolling Stones have ended up with Andrew Loog Oldham? The musical map of the last century could have been so different if it wasn’t for the people behind the super groups and singers, and they doesn’t end with managers and promoters. The unsung heroes for many are the DJs who played the music. Early use of DJ equipment brought the news sounds into peoples homes and individual styles and techniques created a following that the music industry was happy to exploit.

Those early DJs with their basic DJ equipment of turntable, transmitter and record collection and the shows that they produced were often the only way some artists could get heard. As with any new sounds, even today, people were reluctant to take a chance on an unknown and so people like Elvis Presely, Johnny Cash and BB King found it difficult to get airplay. There were however a few innovators who saw something special in the new sounds.

Alan Freed - Without Alan Freed, or Moondog, as he was also known we might not have the term ‘Rock n Roll’ in our vocabulary. He coined the phrase on his radio show in 1950’s and is also credited as playing records by many of the artists who are household names today. With only rudimentary DJ equipment and a collection of rhythm and blues, country and Jazz records he gained a large following among the youth of America. He is also credited with one of the first people to promote integration amongst ethnics groups through music.

Wolfman Jack - Robert Weston Smith was a big fan of Alan Freed’s radio shows and followed in his footsteps as a DJ playing the latest pop and rock songs. He move from station to station gathering an ever greater following each time. In 1962 he moved to XERB-AM which gave him the opportunity to work with some of the latest high powered DJ equipment. The station’s signal was so powerful it could be picked up across much of the USA.

Casey Kasem - There are many reasons to thank Casey Kasem when it comes to pop music. During his time as a disc jockey in San Francisco he acquired a wealth of knowledge and trivia on music and musicians and used that to great effect on his shows. He developed the idea of a top 40 music programme and was not only a pioneer of DJ equipment but also VJ equipment. His face was known to millions os music fans long before the arrival of MTV.

Superstar DJs - Although there are avenues for all sorts of music today the role of the DJ is still an important one. People like Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers use the latest DJ equipment to showcase the latest tunes but have also become artists in their own right with their innovative use of techniques like sampling and mixing to create new version so other peoples songs.

Dominic Donaldson is an expert in the music industry.

Music Teaching Resources: Setting a Good Studio Policy

Filed under: Top 20, bands, music, playlist — Admin @ 8:30 pm

By Earl Marsden

Good music teaching resources and studio policies are indeed necessary as they intend to create a conducive and healthy learning environment. Music teachers must set good and strict business principles and classroom practices so as to eliminate confusion, inconsistency and misunderstanding among studio clients, students, parents as well as the entire teaching personnel.

Certainly, as you decide to put up your own music studio, your studio policies and resources must also be ready for posting and dissemination. Therefore, you have to devise, update and implement them consistently and reliably.

Studio Policy: Basics, Advantages and Benefits

A studio policy is a set of written rules and regulations that has to be strictly observed and implemented. Private music studio owners as well as music teachers must specify and define all points and items in the studio policy itself so as to have everything clearly explained and discussed. Studio policy also lessens the risks and circumstances where a problem or a conflict may likely arise.

Though some studio policies differ in concept and context, they must include citations on various areas like fees, payment schemes, work and class schedules, class requirements, lesson preparations, service arrangements and other relevant issues necessary in managing your own music studio.

Music Teaching Resources

As studio policy is made as specific as music teaching resources are, tips on how to make and construct such are certainly essential. Setting a good studio policy is as good as generating music teaching resources. Since these two have to be both up-to-date, concise, concrete and complete, music teachers must keep in mind that rigid research really plays a vital role in coming up with effective and efficient resources and policies in music teaching. Such research can be done in just few clicks using the power of technology and innovation.

Using informational documents and tools, citing insights and experiences, writing studio policy, motivating social and classroom participation as well as giving tips and advices are all great teaching techniques in driving your way to academic success through music education.

These professional and business means: music teaching resources and studio policies are both important in meeting the goal of the institution. Therefore, you have to be sure that they are truly focused and relevant in teaching and learning music.

Stick to Your Music Teaching Resources and Studio Policies

Music teachers have to be consistent and prompt both in their teaching and managerial strategies. This is to establish reliability and credibility not just for their profession but also for their relationship among students and studio clients. As they stick to their rules, policies, resources and techniques, people around them would be used to those concepts and would be able to apply such in daily activities and endeavors.

Remember that your policies and resources in music education are as important and as beneficial as your motivation and willingness to disseminate and employ to the learners and the clients as well as to implement in their future dealings and ventures.
